Music can be a magical tool and can do so much for so many people. Whether it’s playing an instrument or listening to others, music has a way of bringing people together in a shared experience, whilst also encouraging personal emotions and growth in participants.
Through our work, SFE also uses the power of music to inspire and engage people,
developing skills and confidence they can take forward with them.
Whether this is encouraging a child with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) to pick up an instrument and make music, encouraging a child in care to engage more positively in school or give our young Music Ensemble members the opportunity to showcase their talents on amazing stages, music is the key ingredient for all of them.
Music is great at breaking down barriers of communication and language, and can be enjoyed across different generations.
With that in mind, could you consider being an SFE Music Maker and making a donation to help us continue to bring music making opportunities to people across the city all year round.
Whatever the amount, your donation will have an impact on the work we do, but here are a few examples of what they could make possible, individually and collectively;
- £10 could buy reeds and strings for a young musician.
- £30 could buy a musical instrument for a SEND group.
- £50 could provide an hour’s music tuition for a child in care.
- £100 could provide staff to support an Inclusive Choir session.
- £200 could pay for an Area Ensembles young musician place for a year.
