The Music Service has always believed that making music is something every young person should have the opportunity to enjoy. This belief is now reflected in our charitable status. As part of the wider charity, Services for Education (Registered Charity No. 1148848), the Music Service seeks to deliver the best possible music education, seeks to provide an authentic experience for our young musicians and most importantly, seeks to be wholly inclusive regardless of background.
We are proud of our achievements over the years but our eyes are firmly fixed on the future and we feel we can do even more for the young people of this city. We have ambitious plans to increase the scope of our work and the diversity of students we reach, including work with disabled students, projects for students after they have left school, increasing our work in the field of contemporary popular music and a desire to take music further into the special needs environment. To achieve this we need your help!
There are many ways in which you can help support the Music Service from donating, joining the FBSO, and fundraising for us, to volunteering; there are also ways you can raise funds for us at no cost to you! It is a very exciting time for the Music Service and we really hope there is something that everyone feels they can do to show their support.
£1 = £2.25?
We currently have a fantastic opportunity to significantly increase the impact of all the donations we receive thanks to the Arts Council’s Catalyst:Evolve fund. This is a match funding programme whereby the Arts Council matches every donation we receive £1 for £1 over the next three years and up to a maximum amount of £120,000. With the added potential of gift aid we can also claim on donations every £1 donated can become £2.25!
